Elsa

Elsa is a 1-year-old Border Collie mix who came from a backyard breeder situation and is still learning how to feel safe in the world. She is very shy and shut down right now, but not aggressive — just scared and unsure. New people and environments are overwhelming for Elsa, and she prefers to quietly observe from a distance. She will need a calm, patient home that understands fearful dogs and allows her to move at her own pace without pressure. A quiet household with no young children would be best. Elsa has already shown small signs of progress with consistency and kindness. She would benefit from a confident, gentle dog companion to help build her confidence. While she will need time — weeks or months — the reward will be watching her slowly learn trust and comfort. Elsa is looking for a special adopter with a big heart and a lot of patience. Rescue dogs are notorious for losing their birth certificates before arriving in rescue. Any claims of breed, DOB, and estimated full grown size are strictly estimations made by our vets during exam and our shelter staff's experience.
